| 1.
The general control of the Institute is vested in the Director-Principal/Principal.
|
2.
Ragging of the first year students is forbidden and is punishable
by imposing heavy fine, rustication or expulsion from Institute as per instructions
received from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Ragging is defined
as any wilful injury or threat of injury, physical or mental to any fellow student.
Ragging includes wilfully degrading or humiliating a fellow student, whereby he/she
suffers distress of mind or spirit. (The University rules regarding Ragging and
Its Prevention are given at the end of Part-A) |
| 3.
All students shall comply with the Institute rules and regulations. |
| 4.
Hostel residents shall not be allowed to take meals from outside. |
| 5.
All students must abide by the rules and regulations of the hostel given hereinafter.
On failure to do so, disciplinary action will be take by the hostel/college authorities.

6.
Regular and punctual attendance at lectures, demonstrations, laboratory work,
clinics and class examinations is compulsory. Students
who do not keep the required attendance at lectures, or who do not obtain at least
50% in the aggregate of all class awards in each subject (the minimum permitted
in either theory or practical being 45%) or whose progress and/or conduct are
not considered satisfactory will not be allowed to appear in the University examinations.

| 7. Leave
of absence from classes or leave to go out of station at any time must be taken
from the Director-Principal/Principal through Heads of departments and respective
Wardens on the prescribed "Student's Leave Form". All students report
to the Director-Principal/Principal on return from leave. Students returning late
from leave will be treated absent from the classes, and due fine imposed. In addition,
they will be required to attend extra classes to make up for the time missed.
In case of illness, a medical certificate must be submitted along with the leave
form and the period of time to be made up will be decided by the Director-Principal/Principal.
Students going home on week-ends must take prior permission from the respective
Warden and Director-Principal/Principal on the prescribed "Students Weekend
Pass". If a student is found to be remaining absent from classes without
permission from the Director-Principal/Principal of the Institute, it will be
presumed that he is not willing to continue his studies in the Institute, and
will be treated to have left the Institute of his own accord without completing
his studies. In that case, the Institute will be in its right to recover from
him the fee for the remaining period of the entire course, as provided under Note
3 of Section 4, above. |
8.
Students are not allowed to paste (display?) notices or posters within the Institution
without prior permission from the Director-Principal/Principal, and are forbidden
to address any outside authority directly. All such communications must be submitted
through the Director-Principal/ Principal, who will forward them only if considered
fit and necessary. A student infringing this rule will be suspended, and disciplinary
action taken against him. |
| 9.
The Institute does not hold itself responsible for debts incurred by the students.
|
10.
Students are not permitted to receive presents or money from the patients nor
may they give presents to members of the staff individually. |
11.
Students must not crowd the Director-Principal's/Principal's office area or use
office telephone. |
12.
Students must pay for all damages caused by them to books and other college property.
Breakages of apparatus costing more than Rs.5/- must be paid for by the student.

13.
Strictly forbidden within any part of the Institute, or the attached hospitals,
are:- (a) The possession or use of cigarette or tobacco in
any form. (b) The possession or use of alcoholic beverages.
(c) The possession or use of addictive or hallucinogenic drugs.
(d) Possession of fire-arms or any other lethal weapon.
(e) Gambling |
| 14. Smoking
is strictly forbidden. |

15. Any illness, including even minor ailments, must be reported
to the respective Warden or Director-Principal/Principal as soon as possible.
|
16.
Students must wear college blazer during winter season and must keep washable
white coats, which are to be worn at all times in the Institute laboratories and
on hospital duty, and |
| 17.
The students must also provide for their own instruments. |
18.
Girl students must keep their hair up, properly braided when at work in the Institute
and hospital. |
19.
Institute fees must be paid in full by the dates stated in the prospectus, on
the bills or as otherwise notified by the office. A student whose fees, together
with the fine imposed, remain unpaid for a calendar month after the due date,
will be suspended from attending lectures or clinics or other classes until the
fees have been fully paid. |
20.
Any student whose mess bills are not paid for two months will not be allowed to
attend classes until the unpaid bills are cleared. |
| 21.
Irregularities, neglect of duties, breach of rules and indiscipline are to be
dealt with strictly and necessary action will be taken by the Director-Principal/Principal,
Hostel authorities and Head of Department, as the case may be. |
| 22.
As per the directive of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot,
there shall be a disciplinary committee, which will assist the Director-Principal/Principal
in dealing with any indiscipline or any offence. |
