Total Number of Seats

There are in all 60 seats out of which 30 seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to Sikh Community from all over India, as per Punjab Government Notification dated 3rd April 2001, and the remaining 30 seats are open to all communities of the Punjab Domicile only. These seats are further divided as under:-

4. Migrants from Jammu & Kashmir due to terrorist Violence. 01
(Any seat left unfilled under any “reserved” category will be transferred to general/open category.)  

 Note: If a candidate wishes to be considered for seat reserved for Sikh minority community (2-A) and also under 2-B, open seats for Punjab domicile candidates, she should send two separate applications.

Duration of the Course

Duration of the course shall be 3 ½ years. (Three and a half years)

Eligibility

The General Nursing and Midwifery course shall be open only to  a woman candidate who-

is unmarried, or is widow without encumbrance, or divorced/legally separated.
Has passed Senior Secondary (Part II), i.e. 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board or an equivalent examination from any other Board/University, preferably with Science subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology, with not less than 45% marks in aggregate ( 40% for SC/ST candidates).
Has studied Punjabi up to Matric standard ( This is not applicable to candidates seeking admission under category 2-A, i.e. against seats open to candidates belonging to Sikh Community on All-India basis)
Has attained, or shall be attaining, the age of 17 years, but shall not be completing 35 years on 31.12.2006
Is a domicile of the State of Punjab (in the case of persons seeking admission to seats under category 2-B above); and
Is medically fit.

Fee Structure

A. Tution fee Rs. 35,000/- per annum
B. Security (refundable after completion of course) Rs. 10,000/-
C. Hostel Fees (Room rent, Water & Electricity charges) Rs. 12,000/- per annum
D. Hostel Security (refundable on completion of the course) Rs. 8,000/-
E. Mess Security (refundable on completion of the course) Rs. 2,000/-
